♦ Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced in the legislative assembly the formation of a three-member high-level committee aimed at safeguarding state autonomy on 15 April 2025.

♦ The committee, led by retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Kurien Joseph, is tasked with recommending measures to review the provisions of the Constitution, laws and policies concerning Centre-State relations and recommend appropriate steps to strengthen the States’ autonomy and federalism.

♦ An interim report is expected by January 2026, with a final submission by 2028.
