♦ International Master Mayank Chakraborty (16 years) has achieved the final norm in Sweden, to be the 94th Grandmaster of India on 14 March 2026.

♦ He had secured his final Grandmaster (GM) norm at the 8th GM Tournament in Sweden. 

♦ He became the first-ever Grandmaster from Assam and North-East India. 

♦ By defeating top seeds and maintaining an unbeaten streak in his final rounds, he has also crossed the mandatory 2500 FIDE rating barrier to be a grandmaster.
