♦ Conservative party leader Karol Nawrocki was elected Poland's new president, the state electoral commission (PKW) said.

♦ Nawrocki won 50.9% percent of the votes – ahead of Warsaw's liberal mayor Rafal Trzaskowski on 49.1% percent.
