♦ Kanchan Devi was appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Indian Council of Forestry Research Education (ICFRE). She became the first woman officer to hold this post. Kanchan Devi is a 1991-batch Indian Forest Service Officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. ICFRE is a premier council under the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
