♦ Nepal's Kami Rita (55) climbed Mount Everest for the 31st time on 27 May 2025, breaking his own record for the most climbs to the top of the world's highest mountain.

♦ He reached the 8,848.86-metre summit via the NorthEastern route.

♦ Kami Rita first climbed Everest in 1994 and has made the ascent almost every year since, sometimes twice a season. 

♦ He also holds the record for the most ascents of peaks above 8,000 metres, with 40 in total, including Cho-Oyu (eight times), Lhotse and K2.
