The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification inviting applications for its Junior Research Fellowships for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 80 Vacancies
Eligibility: Candidates must be registered for a Ph.D. programme in historical studies at a recognized university to be eligible for the fellowship. Applicants are required to apply through the proper channel, meaning their application must be recommended by their Research Supervisor and forwarded by their Head of Department, Centre, or Principal.
Fellowship: Rs. 17,600 per month.
Selection Process: The selection process will consist of two stages. online exam, presentation, interview.
Application Procedure: Eligible scholars must first apply online through the ICHR website. After submission, a hard copy of the generated application form, featuring a unique auto-generated ID, must be printed and signed. This hard copy, along with self-attested documents such as the Ph.D. registration certificate and educational qualifications, must be sent by post to the Member Secretary of the ICHR in New Delhi.
Application Fee: Rs. 500 for OBC candidates; No fee for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates.
