♦ The first-ever Olympic Esports Games will take place in 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed this on 11 February 2025.

♦ The creation of the Olympic Esports Games was formalised at the 142nd IOC Session in July 2023.

♦ The IOC is partnering with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) to deliver the event, while the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) will serve as the Founding Partner.

♦ The partnership aims to bridge the gap between traditional and digital sports, enhance competitive integrity and align global esports standards.
