♦ Oman was elected to serve on the International Coordinating Council of UNESCO’s MAB Programme for the term 2025–2029. The election took place during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. 

♦ The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme was launched by UNESCO in 1971. This is designed to foster scientific and research collaboration among member states.
