♦ International Animation Day is observed every year on October 28 to honour the artists, who inspire people through their animations.

♦ This day was launched in 2002 by the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA), a part of UNESCO. 

♦ ASIFA created the IAD in 2002, honoring the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, on the 28th October 1892.
