♦ P Shyaamnikhil became India's 85th chess Grandmaster by completing final GM norms in Dubai.

♦ He is form Tamilnadu state. Shyaamnikhil, who embarked on his journey at the tender age of eight, finally secured the coveted third and final GM norm at the prestigious 2024 Dubai Police Masters Chess Tournament.

♦ Vishwanathan Anand was the first Indian to become the Grandmaster in 1988.  Koneru Hampy was the first women Grandmaster of India and also she is world's youngest female player ever to become women Grandmaster.
