♦ Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling event on 9 August 2024. He defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz in the final. 

♦ Aman became India’s youngest medal winner at the Summer Olympics. At the age of 21 years and 24 days, Aman Sehrawat bettered PV Sindhu’s record of 21 years, one month and 14 days when she bagged the silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

♦ This was India’s first medal in wrestling at Paris 2024, sixth overall and the second successive one in the event at the Olympics. Ravi Kumar Dahiya had won silver in the event at Tokyo 2020.

♦ Indians have won medals in the wrestling competition at the Olympics since 2008 and the streak remains unbroken. Sushil Kumar won the bronze medal in Beijing (2008) and a silver in London (2012), Yogeshwar Dutt (2012), Sakshi Malik (2016), Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia (2021) have won medals at the Olympics.
