The Indian Navy has invited online applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as sailors in the Medical Branch for the SSR (Med) 02/2027 batch. This recruitment drive aims to find "Combat Ready" individuals to safeguard Indian seas.

Post Title: Sailor - Senior Secondary Recruits in Medical Branch (SSR (Medical))
Eligibility: Candidates must have qualified in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a recognized board. Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 40% in each individual subject. Candidates currently appearing for their class 12th Board Exams in the 2025-26 academic year are also eligible to apply, provided they meet all other criteria and can produce original marksheets during subsequent recruitment stages.
Age: Candidates must have been born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive). This age criteria applies to both the initial INET 2026 and the Stage II recruitment process for this batch.
Salary:
Initial Training: A monthly stipend of Rs.14,600.
Post-Training: Placement in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs.21,700- Rs.69,100). Selection ProcedureThe selection process is divided into two primary stages:
Stage I (INET): A computer-based Indian Navy Entrance Test consisting of 100 objective-type questions covering English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
Stage II: Shortlisted candidates from Stage I undergo a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a Written Examination, and a Recruitment Medical Examination.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be at least 157 cms tall.
PFT Requirements: Includes a 1.6 Km run in 6 min 30 sec, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, and 15 bent knee sit-ups.
Note: NCC 'C' certificate holders and Sponsor candidates are exempted from Stage I and move directly to Stage II.How to Apply.

Candidates must scan and upload all required original documents, including a recent passport-size color photograph taken with the candidate holding a black slate showing their name and the date the photo was taken. Application assistance is also optionally available via Common Service Centers (CSC) for a small fee.
Examination Fee: Fee Amount: Rs.550 plus 18% GST.
