♦ Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam was granted Mini-Ratna status by the Government of India on 14 October 2025.

♦ The recognition follows the shipyard’s consistent financial performance, and operational improvements over the past few years. 

♦ Established in 1941, HSL has been a cornerstone of India’s shipbuilding capability, supporting India's naval and commercial fleets.

♦ In the 2024-25 financial year, HSL hit Rs.1,586 crore in income and Rs.166 crore profit—a 36% jump from last year (2023-24).

♦ With this status, HSL can invest up to ₹500 crore without waiting for approval—so decisions and partnerships get faster.
