♦ The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the procurement of 12 Su-30MKI fighter aircraft on 12 December 2024.
♦ The agreement, valued at approximately Rs.13,500 crore.
♦ The new Su-30MKIs will feature 62.6% indigenous content, a result of the indigenization of numerous components by the Indian defense industry.
♦ These aircraft are set to be manufactured at HAL’s Nasik division.
♦ The Su-30MKI, a frontline fighter in the IAF, is known for its versatility and advanced combat capabilities.
