♦ Indian-American banker Gunjan Kedia was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of U.S. Bancorp. Her appointment will be effective from 15 April 2025.  

♦ She also set to make history as the first woman in the bank's history to take up the role. U.S. Bancorp is the fifth largest bank in America. 

♦ Kedia will replace Andy Cecere, who served as the company’s CEO since 2017 and as its Chairman since 2018.

♦ Kedia joined U.S. Bancorp in 2016 and has been an influential leader within the bank, most recently serving as president and overseeing the revenue lines.
