♦ Singapore was ranked the safest country in Asia, securing the 6th position globally in the latest Global Peace Index (GPI) 2025.

♦ The report was released by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP).

♦ The 19th edition of the index assessed 163 countries on parameters such as safety, conflict, and militarisation. 

♦ India was ranked 115th out of 163 countries in the 2025 index, with a score of 2.229, unchanged from 2024. 

♦ Top 10 Most Peaceful Countries Globally are:

Iceland – 1.095, Ireland – 1.260, New Zealand – 1.282, Austria – 1.294, Switzerland – 1.294, Singapore – 1.357, Portugal – 1.371,
Denmark – 1.393, Slovenia – 1.409, Finland – 1.420
