♦ India was ranked third in ‘Global AI Vibrancy Tool’ index in a study conducted by Stanford University. The 2025 version of Stanford’s ‘Global AI Vibrancy Tool’ works with data coverage through 2024 across a set of parameters, which measure the preparedness of countries when it comes to AI.

♦ With a score of 21.59, India now trails only the United States (78.6) and China (36.95), highlighting its rapid emergence as a major global player in AI innovation, talent, and policy.

♦ The Stanford Global AI Vibrancy Tool is an online dashboard that ranks countries on the activity and competitiveness of their AI ecosystems. It assesses them across seven pillars: research, talent, economy, policy, infrastructure, responsible AI, and public opinion.

♦ On India, the Stanford report says that the country has received a score of 21.59 in the 2024 Global Vibrancy Index, and is ahead of South Korea (17.24) and the UK (16.64).
