♦ Republican party leader Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States. He defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the presidential election and was re-elected for a second term.  

♦ He is only the second president to serve non-consecutive terms after Grover Cleveland, a feat that was last accomplished 132 years ago.

♦ Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the US, serving from 1885 to 1889 and from 1893 to 1897. Trump's first term as US President was between 2016 and 2020.

♦ JD Vance will become America’s next Vice-President. His wife Usha Chilukuri Vance is an Indian-American.
