♦ India celebrates CISF Raising Day every year on March 10 to honour the Central Industrial Security Forces of India (CISF). 2025 marks the 56th Raising Day.
♦ The CISF was established on March 10, 1969, under the CISF Act of 1968.
♦ Initially, it had only 3 battalions with about 2,800 personnel.
♦ Over time, the force expanded significantly and currently has around 1,88,000 personnel.
♦ The CISF plays a crucial role in protecting key infrastructure such as airports, metro networks, atomic energy plants, space research centers, ports, and industrial sectors like petroleum, coal, and steel.
