♦ The Ministry of Defence signed a Rs 1,950 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on 31 March 2026 for the procurement of two mountain radars for the Indian Air Force. The deal, signed in New Delhi under the ‘Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured)’ category, includes associated equipment and infrastructure.

♦ The mountain radar has been designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s Electronics and Radar Development Establishment, and will be manufactured by BEL.
