Assam Rifles, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has released the Recruitment Rally 2026 notification inviting online applications from eligible male and female Indian citizens for the post of Rifleman / Riflewoman (General Duty) under Meritorious Sports Persons Quota. The recruitment rally will be conducted at designated centres between February 2026 and May 2026.

Rifleman / Riflewoman (General Duty- Sports Quota)

Eligibility: 

Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognised board and should be meritorious sportspersons who have participated at International / National / Inter-University / State / Khelo India level competitions. Candidates must possess valid sports certificates issued by competent authorities as prescribed in the notification.

Age Limit: General / OBC: 18 to 28 years, SC / ST: 18 to 33 years as on 01 January 2026.

Selection Procedure: Candidate Verification & Documentation, RFID-based Physical Standard Test (PST), Motor Ability Test (MAT), Sports Field Trial, Detailed Medical Examination (DME), Review Medical Examination (RME) if applicable, Final Merit List based on performance and achievements.

Examination / Application Fee: General & OBC: Rs.100. No Fee for SC / ST / Female Candidates. 

Recruitment Rally, PST, MAT, and Field Trials will be conducted at: Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Dimapur (Nagaland), Sukhovi (Nagaland), HQ DGAR, Shillong (Meghalaya), HQ IGAR (South), Mantripukhri, Imphal (Manipur).
