♦ The Central Government has re-appointed Ashwini Kumar Tewari as Managing Director in State Bank of India (SBI). It extends beyond his currently notified term, which ends on January 27, 2026, till the date of his superannuation—December 31, 2027—or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to a notification by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.

♦ Tewari started his career in the SBI as a probationary officer in 1991, was elevated by the Government as MD (from deputy MD) in January 2021 for three years with effect from the date of assumption of office, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Thereafter, his tenure was extended by two years, beyond January 27, 2024.
