♦ Ashok Singh Thakur was elected as the new Chairman of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) for a period of three years.

♦ INTACH is India's premier heritage conservation organisation formally constituted on 27th January 1984.

♦ It is a nationally registered Society under the Societies Registration Act (1860).

♦ The mandate of INTACH is to preserve and conserve the environment, revitalizing intangible heritage while fostering awareness and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.

♦ The INTACH Charter was adopted in 2004 and serves as a foundation document guiding heritage conservation in India.
