♦ The Central Government has nominated Anuradha Thakur, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 25 July 2025.

♦ He replaced Ajay Seth, who was appointed as the new Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). 

♦ Anuradha Thakur is a 1994-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre and current Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA).
