♦ Former Finance Secretary Ajay Seth assumed charge as the Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on 1 September 2025.

♦ He is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre.

♦ He retired as the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs in 2025 June after a four-year-long stint. 

♦ Seth succeeded Debashis Panda, whose term ended on 13 March 2025.
