♦ Ajay Bhadoo was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

♦ He is currently the Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

♦ Ajay is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1999 batch from the Gujarat cadre. 

♦ The Government e-Market (GeM) portal was launched on 9 August 2016, for all central government ministries and departments' online purchases of goods and services.
