♦ Air Marshal SP Dharkar was appointed as the next Vice Chief of Air Staff on 25 September 2024. He will succeed Air Marshal AP Singh, who is set to become the Chief of Air Staff. Dharkar will be assuming his new role after the new Air Force chief takes over on September 30. 

♦ Dharkar was commissioned into Air Force in June 1985. He has 3,6000 hours of flying experience.
