Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)

♦ Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the maiden flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha, from a mobile articulated launcher on 12 November 2024. ♦ The test was carried out using a mobile articulated launcher, and the missile performed as expected, meeting all primary mission objectives. ♦ The missile performance was monitored by several range sensors like Radar, Electro Optical Tracking System and telemetry deployed by ITR at different locations to ensure complete coverage of the flight path. ♦ LRLACM has been developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment, Bengaluru along with contribution from other DRDO laboratories and Indian industries. ♦ Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad and Bharat Electronics Limited, Bengaluru are the two Development-Cum-Production-Partners for LRLACM and they are engaged in the missile development and integration.

Russian Embassy

♦ The Russian Embassy in India inaugurated the Russian Business Center in New Delhi on November 12. The Business Council for Cooperation with India and Synergy Corporation led this initiative. ♦ The main objectives of opening the center are to develop business ties between India and Russia, promote export cooperation, and provide a platform for interaction between the business communities.  ♦ The center will include a co-working space for events, regional business missions, forums, seminars, and conferences, while specialists will provide analytical support and advice on various issues.

Navin Ramgoolam

♦ Mauritius' opposition leader Navin Ramgoolam was elected the country's Prime Minister on 12 November 2024. Ramgoolam's Alliance du Changement (ADC) coalition won a landslide 60 of the 62 national assembly seats. ♦ The ADC earned 62.6% of votes in the recent eletions, election commission said. he has replaced Pravind Jugnauth as PM. ♦ He served as prime minister from 1995 to 2000 and again from 2005 to 2014.

మారిషస్‌ ప్రధానిగా నవీన్‌ రామ్‌గులామ్‌

ద్వీప దేశం మారిషస్‌ ఎన్నికల్లో ప్రతిపక్ష ‘ద అలయెన్స్‌ ఫర్‌ ఛేంజ్‌’ కూటమి విజయం సాధించింది. ప్రతిపక్ష నేత నవీన్‌ రామ్‌గులామ్‌ ప్రధాని పీఠాన్ని అధిష్ఠించనున్నారు. ఆయన గతంలో 1995-2000, 2005-14 వరకు ప్రధానిగా పనిచేశారు. 2024, నవంబరు 10న జరిగిన ఎన్నికల్లో దేశంలో ఉన్న దాదాపు అన్ని సీట్లలోనూ ప్రతిపక్ష కూటమి విజయకేతనం ఎగరవేసింది. ప్రధాని ప్రవీణ్‌ జగన్నాథ్‌ నాయకత్వంలోని అధికార కూటమి.. ప్రజలు నేరుగా ఓటింగ్‌లో పాల్గొనే 60 సీట్లలోనూ ఓటమి పాలైంది.

రష్యాతో ఉత్తర కొరియా రక్షణ ఒప్పందం

ఉత్తర కొరియా-రష్యా దేశాలు తమ మధ్య రక్షణ బంధాన్ని కుదుర్చుకున్నాయి. తమలో ఏ ఒక్కరిపైనైనా శత్రుదేశం దాడి జరిగితే ఈ రెండూ ఒకదానికొకటి సహకరించుకునేలా కీలక రక్షణ ఒప్పందాన్ని చేసుకున్నాయి. 2024 జూన్‌లోనే దీనిపై సంతకాలు జరగగా దాన్ని ఉత్తర కొరియా 2024, నవంబరు 12న ఆమోదించింది. ఈ ఒప్పందాన్ని రష్యా ఇప్పటికే ఆమోదించింది.

దీర్ఘశ్రేణి క్రూజ్‌ క్షిపణి పరీక్ష

భూతలంపై దాడులు చేయగల దీర్ఘశ్రేణి క్రూజ్‌ క్షిపణి (ఎల్‌ఆర్‌ఎల్‌ఏసీఎం)ని భారత్‌ 2024, నవంబరు 12న తొలిసారిగా పరీక్షించింది. ఒడిశా తీరానికి చేరువలోని ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్‌ టెస్ట్‌ రేంజ్‌ నుంచి జరిగిన ఈ ప్రయోగం విజయవంతంగా సాగిందని రక్షణ మంత్రిత్వశాఖ పేర్కొంది.  ఎల్‌ఆర్‌ఎల్‌ఏసీఎంను బెంగళూరులోని ఏరోనాటికల్‌ డెవలప్‌మెంట్‌ ఏజెన్సీ అభివృద్ధి చేసింది. డీఆర్‌డీవోకు చెందిన పలు ల్యాబ్‌లు, ప్రైవేటు పరిశ్రమలు దీని రూపకల్పనలో పాలుపంచుకున్నాయి. క్షిపణి ఉత్పత్తి బాధ్యతను హైదరాబాద్‌లోని భారత్‌ డైనమిక్స్‌ లిమిటెడ్, బెంగళూరులోని బీఈఎల్‌ సంస్థలు చేపట్టాయి.
