Nidhi Tewari

♦ Nidhi Tewari was appointed as the private secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She is a 2014-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer.  ♦ Tewari has been serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since November 2022. ♦ Earlier she was Under Secretary at Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). ♦ She specifically took care of areas such as External Affairs, Atomic Energy and Security Affairs, as well as the state of Rajasthan.

Shirley Botchwey

♦ Shirley Botchwey assumed office as the 7th Secretary-General of the Commonwealth on 31 March 2025. With this, she became the first woman from Africa to hold this office. ♦ She previously served as Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration from January 2017 to January 2024 and was also a member of Ghana’s National Security Council. ♦ The Secretary-General is nominated by Commonwealth leaders and can serve a maximum of two terms of four years each. ♦ The Commonwealth Secretary-General is responsible for promoting and protecting the Commonwealth’s values, representing the Commonwealth publicly and the management of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Men’s Hockey Hero Asia Cup 2025

♦ Bihar will host Men’s Hockey Hero Asia Cup 2025 with support of Hockey India  from August 29 to September 7, 2025. This will be the 12th Edition of Asia Cup. ♦ A MoU was signed on 31 March 2025 at Patna between Hockey India and Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) to handover the baton of host.  ♦ A total of eight teams including India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, China, and Malaysia. The remaining two teams will secure their spots through the qualifying tournament, the AHF Cup.  ♦ South Korea stands as the most successful team in the history of the Men’s Asia Cup with five titles (1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, and 2022), followed closely by India (2003, 2007, and 2017) and Pakistan (1982, 1985, and 1989), who have each won the tournament three times.

Indian Air Force (IAF)

♦ The Indian Air Force (IAF) participated in the multinational air exercise INIOCHOS-25, which began in Greece on 31 March 2025. ♦ This was hosted by Greece’s Hellenic Air Force, took place at Andravida Air Base in a historic region of Elis. The 12-day exercise concludes on 11 April 2025. ♦ This biennial exercise brings together air forces from 15 countries to enhance interoperability, tactical expertise, and combat readiness.  ♦ The IAF contingent will include Su-30 MKI fighters, along with combat-enabling IL-78 and C-17aircraft.  ♦ The aim of this exercise is to enhance international cooperation, synergy and interoperability among participating Air Forces. ♦ It will provide an opportunity to train in planning and executing Combined Air operations, refine tactics in complex air warfare scenarios, and gain insights into operational best practices.

ఫిలిప్పీన్స్‌కు తెలంగాణ బియ్యం

ఫిలిప్పీన్స్‌కు తెలంగాణ బియ్యం ఎగుమతి ప్రారంభమైంది. ఏపీలోని కాకినాడ పోర్టు నుంచి ఫిలిప్పీన్స్‌కు బియ్యం లోడ్‌తో వెళ్లే నౌకను 2025, మార్చి 31న హోప్‌ ఐలాండ్‌ సమీపంలోని ఇన్నర్‌ యాంకర్‌ వద్ద తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర పౌర సరఫరాల శాఖ మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్‌కుమార్‌రెడ్డి జెండా ఊపి ప్రారంభించారు. మొత్తం 8 లక్షల టన్నుల ఐఆర్‌ 64/1010 రకం బియ్యం ఎగుమతికి ఫిలిప్పీన్స్‌తో రాష్ట్ర పౌరసరఫరాల సంస్థకు ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది. రూ.45 కోట్ల విలువైన 12,500 టన్నులతో మొదటి నౌక బయల్దేరింది.

ఎన్‌ఎస్‌ఈ మార్కెట్‌ విలువ రూ.410.87 లక్షల కోట్లు

నేషనల్‌ స్టాక్‌ ఎక్స్ఛేంజ్‌ (ఎన్‌ఎస్‌ఈ)లో నమోదైన 2,720 కంపెనీల మార్కెట్‌ విలువ మార్చి 31, 2025 నాటికి రూ.410.87 లక్షల కోట్లకు చేరింది. 2024 ఇదే కాలంలో ఈ మొత్తం రూ.384.2 లక్షల కోట్లుగా ఉంది. దాదాపు 6.9 శాతం వృద్ధి నమోదయ్యింది. మార్చి 28, 2025 నాటికి నమోదిత పెట్టుబడిదారుల సంఖ్య  11.3 కోట్లకు చేరుకుంది. 2023-24 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో 9.16 కోట్లతో పోలిస్తే ఇది   23.1 శాతం పెరిగింది. వీరిలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ నుంచి 51 లక్షలు, తెలంగాణ నుంచి 27 లక్షల మంది ఉన్నారు.

వాటర్‌ డ్రోన్‌ ప్రయోగ పరీక్ష

భారత అమ్ములపొదిలో మరో అస్త్రం వచ్చి చేరింది. శత్రుదేశాల యుద్ధ నౌకలపై నిఘా పెట్టేందుకు రూపొందించిన వాటర్‌ డ్రోన్‌ను డీఆర్‌డీవో విజయవంతంగా పరీక్షించింది. నౌకాదళ శాస్త్ర సాంకేతిక పరిశోధన సంస్థ అభివృద్ధి చేస్తున్న హై ఎండ్యూరెన్స్‌ అటానమస్‌ అండర్‌ వాటర్‌ వెహికల్‌ ప్రయోగ పరీక్షను ఓ సరస్సులో నిర్వహించారు.  భూ ఉపరితలంపై, నీటిలోనూ పరీక్షలను నిర్వహించినట్లు డీఆర్‌డీఓ తెలిపింది. ఈ పరీక్షలో వెహికల్‌ సోనార్‌లు, కమ్యూనికేషన్‌ వ్యవస్థలు మెరుగ్గా పనిచేసినట్లు పేర్కొంది. భూతల, సముద్ర జలాల్లో పనిచేసే ఈ డ్రోన్, శత్రుదేశాల యుద్ధ నౌకలపై నిఘా పెట్టేందుకు వీలుంటుంది.
