World Homoeopathy Day

♦ World Homoeopathy Day is observed each year on April 10 to raise awareness about the role of homoeopathy in healthcare and encourage more people to learn about it. ♦ It also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.  ♦ Samuel Hahnemann was born on 10 April 1755. ♦ The day originated in India in 1997 where homoeopathy has been widely used for a long time. Dr RK Manchanda, a well-known homoeopathic doctor, wanted a special day to talk about the benefits of this medical system. ♦ His idea gained support and by 2002, and a global group called the World Homeopathic Day Organising Committee was formed. ♦ This committee helps plan and promote events for the day across the world. ♦ 2025 theme: ‘Adhyayan, Adhyaapan, Anusandhaan’

Country Partnership Framework (CPF)

♦ Mauritius became the first African country to sign a Country Partnership Framework (CPF) with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) on 10 April 2025. ♦ Mauritius is the first country in the Africa region, and the fourth country after Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Cuba to sign the CPF. ♦ This partnership aims to provide a structured approach for the ISA and Mauritius to collaborate on solar energy initiatives, aligning with Mauritius's national priorities. ♦ The CPF is a strategic initiative developed by ISA to facilitate long- and medium-term cooperation with its member countries. ♦ The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is a treaty-based intergovernmental organization, launched in 2015 by India and France, aimed at promoting solar energy as a sustainable solution for energy access and climate change, with the goal of mobilizing USD 1 trillion in solar investments by 2030.

Global Technology Summit (GTS)

♦ The 9th edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS) started in New Delhi on 10 April 2025. ♦ This year’s theme is "Sambhavna”—meaning possibilities—and the summit will explore how emerging technologies can drive inclusive growth, strengthen digital governance, and deepen cross-border partnerships. ♦ The summit concludes on 12 April 2025. This was co-hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and Carnegie India. ♦ GTS-2025 featured over 40 public sessions, including keynote addresses, ministerial conversations, expert panels, and strategic conversations. ♦ More than 150 speakers from over 40 countries- including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, UAE, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the European Union- joined discussions on the most pressing tech challenges and opportunities facing the world today.

India’s goods and services

♦ India’s goods and services exports have crossed a record $820 billion in financial year 2024-25, which represents a close to 6 percent increase over the corresponding figure of $778 billion for the previous financial year (2023-24). ♦ The figures were revealed at a meeting held by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal with the Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies in New Delhi to discuss the emerging trade scenario. ♦ The minister complimented the exporters for the all-time high achievement in exports despite multiple headwinds, including the Red Sea crisis, Israel-Hamas conflict spilling over to the Gulf region, continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and slow growth in some developed economies.
