♦ The government of India has officially constituted the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) by appointing its chairperson and other officials.
♦ The three-member 8th Pay Commission was chaired by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, with Prof. Pulak Ghosh as a Part-Time Member and Pankaj Jain as Member-Secretary.
♦ They will review and recommend revisions to the pay structure, allowances, and other benefits of Central Government employees and pensioners.
♦ Other than that, the government has also announced the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the 8th Pay Commission.
♦ It has also announced the 8th Pay Commission headquarters besides telling how much time it will take to form the report.
