♦ The World Bank lowered India’s growth forecast for the current fiscal (2025-26) by 4 percentage points to 6.3% amid global economic weakness and policy uncertainty on 23 April 2025.
♦ In its previous estimate, the World Bank had projected India’s growth at 6.7% for the fiscal year 2025-26.
♦ The IMF revised its projection downward to 6.2 percent for the financial year 2025-26 (FY26).
♦ The RBI too recently cut India’s growth forecast to 6.5 percent from 6.7 percent estimated earlier.
