♦ Renowned scientist S. Muthuchezhian was appointed as the Director of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota of the Indian Space Research Organisation, Sullurpet, Tirupati district on 2 June 2026. He is currently serving as the Associate Director. Muthuchezhian succeeded E.S. Padmakumar, who retired on May 31. 

♦ Muthuchezhian, a native of Tamil Nadu, was born on July 13, 1967. He joined in ISRO in 1991 and has rendered distinguished services in the space sector for more than three decades. He played a key role in the development of launch vehicles and the management of experiments and is currently serving as the Associate Director of SHAR.
