♦ Maharashtra has secured the first position in the Best State category of the 6th National Water Awards for 2024.
♦ The awards, announced by Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil on 11 November 2025, recognise outstanding efforts in water conservation and management across the country.
♦ Gujarat and Haryana have been placed second and third respectively.
♦ In 2025, 46 winners have been selected across ten categories, including Best District, Best Village Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body, and Best Institution.
♦ The awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony in New Delhi on 18th November.
♦ Instituted in 2018, the National Water Awards aim to encourage sustainable water management and support the government’s ‘Jal Samridh Bharat’ vision.
