♦ Mangi Lal Jat took charge as Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on 21 April 2025.

♦ His term will be for three years. Jat replaced Himanshu Pathak, who has taken voluntary retirement. 

♦ Prior to this, Jat was serving as Deputy Director General (Research) and Director of the Global Research Program at International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad.
