♦ International Translation Day is observed every year on 30 September to protection and promotion of translation as an art, protect copyright and related rights. This day was established by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)  on 24 May 24, 2017. September 30 was chosen to commemorate these experts because it coincides with the feast day of St. Jerome, who is credited with translating the Bible. He was a priest from northeastern Italy who translated the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament into Latin.
