♦ Dinesh Bhatia was named as India’s next Ambassador to Brazil, the Ministry of External Affairs said on 25 November 2024. He is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1992 batch. 

♦ Dinesh is currently serving as the ambassador of India to Argentina, having assumed this role on August 21, 2019, and his accreditation also extended to Uruguay and Paraguay until February 2022.

♦ Before this, he served as the Consul General of India in Toronto and Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, and Liberia.
