India and Poland

♦ India and Poland explored ways to deepen cooperation in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, with a focus on enterprise development, digital transformation, technology, innovation, trade and investment.

♦ The discussions took place during a bilateral meeting at Kartavya Bhawan in New Delhi between a high-level Polish delegation led by Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski of Poland’s Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and officials of India’s Ministry of MSME.

♦ Welcoming the delegation, MSME Secretary Bharat Khera highlighted the crucial role played by India’s MSME sector in driving economic growth, employment generation and exports.

♦ He said India has over 86 million registered MSMEs, contributing nearly 30 percent to the country’s GDP, more than one-third of manufacturing output and nearly half of the country’s exports, while supporting the livelihoods of around 330 million people.
