India and Lesotho reviewed the full spectrum of their bilateral relationship during the sixth meeting of the India-Lesotho Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation (JBCC) held in New Delhi, reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

  • The meeting was co-chaired by Janesh Kain, Joint Secretary (East & Southern Africa), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Thabang P. Lekhela, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho.

  • During the discussions, both sides reviewed progress in bilateral ties and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in areas including trade and economic relations, development partnership, skilling and capacity building, as well as collaboration at regional and multilateral forums.

  • Both sides agreed to continue expanding bilateral engagement and decided that the next meeting of the Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation will be held in Maseru, Lesotho, in 2027.
