♦ Gaddam Prasad Kumar was elected unopposed as Speaker of the Telangana assembly on 13 December 2023.

♦ He is the third speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.

♦ Currently, Prasad Kumar represents Vikarabad assembly constituency.

♦ He is the first dalit speaker of the state legislative assembly. 

♦ The post was earlier held by S Madhusudhana Chary (2014-18) and later by Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (2019-24), both of the BRS.
