Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of Forest Section Officer (FSO) posts in AP Forest Subordinate Service on direct recruitment basis. 

No. of Posts: 100 (30 Carry Forward + 70 Fresh).

Details:

Forest Section Officer (FSO)

District wise allocation: Reservation by agency and non-agency areas (SC/ST/BC/EWS, MSP reservation applicable).

Salary: Rs.32,670 – Rs.1,01,970 per month.

Age limit: Minimum 18 - 30 years as on 01.07.2025. (There is a relaxation of 5 years in age for SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates and 10 years in age for SC/ST candidates for CF posts.)

Eligibility: Degree in the relevant discipline (Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology or Agriculture) or a pass in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering as per the posts.

Physical Standards:

Males: Minimum height 163 cm, chest 84 cm (should expand by 5 cm when exhaling).

Females: Minimum height 150 cm, chest 79 cm (with 5 cm expansion) Height exemption for Scheduled Tribe & some categories.

Walking Test: Men must complete 25 kilometers and women 16 kilometers in 4 hours.

Selection Process: 

Screening Test: OMR method will be held on 07.09.2025.

Main Exam: To be announced separately later.

Physical Test: Walking, Medical Exam.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

Bonus marks will be given to those with NCC Certificate.

Application Fee: Application Processing Fee Rs. 250. Examination Fee Rs. 80. SC/ST/BC & ESM candidates will be exempted from the examination fee.
